With the advent of a young, attractive man as President, I decided to write a musical about another young, attractive man who captivated and still captivates the imagination of Americans and people around the world-John Fitzgerald Kennedy, the 35th President of the United States.
Kennedy is not just about the man but about all those fascinating and colorful personalities who peopled his life such as Lyndon Johnson, Hubert Humphrey and Richard Nixon. Kennedy is also about the Kennedy family starting foremost with his beautiful yet vulnerable wife, Jackie; his loyal and fiercely determined brother, Bobby; and his powerful and at times domineering father, Joseph P. Kennedy.
Kennedy spans from 1953 where we meet a young Jackie Bouvier (the future Mrs. Kennedy) to that fateful day of November 22, 1963. In between are tender love songs such as “Where is My Love?”, “A Wedding Vow”, and “You’re My Brother”; humorous songs such as “You Can’t Beat Kennedy” and Nixon’s “Trust Me”; and the signature “A New Frontier” which should bring audiences to their feet.
Please feel free to write or call for any additional information. Though I am wont to boast, I believe Kennedy would make for an unforgettable theatrical experience and would be the highlight of any company’s theatrical season.
